It’s overcast at 7:00am on Saturday 2/15, in Marina Park in San Leandro, cold, wet and windy, but runners from TriValley Running Club have arrived to setup pacer table for Brazen Bay Breeze Half Marathon. The race also have 10K and 5K distance, but pacing was offered for the Half. We gathered to get our pacer shirt, pacing time sign, bib and a quick group photo before breaking into small groups for a short warm up run. We would be pacing 1:30 to 2:30, and this is our first pacing assignment for local races in 2014; there are more races we are coming to so please make sure you follow us here or join us via our FB club page.
All our pacers are experienced runners and have done pacing before. Each one of us got assigned to a time slot that’s at least 7 mins slower than our P.R., some are even 40 mins slower to fill all pacing slot, so be assured that we all can deliver. Besides running at the target pace, we will engage with runners and encourage them to follow pacer’s lead and push toward the Finish Line to achieve their individual goal. Your goal is our goal!!
Today’s course starts at the San Leandro Marina Park and run through the marine wetland for very scenic but fairly flat route. Course is out and back with clear mile marker, aid-stations are well supplied and volunteers are beyond just great! This is the beauty of Brazen Racing races, most volunteers are runners or friends & family members of runners.
On top of pacing, our club members also volunteer as cycling lead for the elite runners, taking pictures, and aid-station supports. Race organization please contact us at email@example.com, and we will be more than happy to work with you as our way to give back to running community.
